The ride to Sumbawa is usually around 1.5 hours depending on the weather. Occasionally the ferry harbour is full, so you may have to wait a little longer for the ferries parked to leave before docking.

HANDY TIPS TO CATCH  A FERRY

The ferries travel to and from Lombok 24 hours a day, so if you want to catch a ferry and avoid the crowds, very early morning ferries or very late evening ferries are recommended.

SEA SICKNESS TABLETS

If you suffer from sea sickness like I do (it’s a curse right!), I recommend to go to the local Apotek to buy Seasick Tablets, they are cheap and around Rp. 30.000 ($3).

They are 100% effective, but strong, so don’t take the whole tablet, split one in half and take 15 minutes before boarding, and save the other half for the trip back. This way the drowsy effects wear off much quicker whilst still providing an effective cure for seasickness.
