If you are travelling by Scooter, beware of the local Police who are stationed just a few metres before the Ticket Booth in Padang Bai as you enter.
Make sure you have your Scooter/Car Licence and Scooter/Car Registration with you in case they pull you over, even if it is a rental. The Police will impound your Scooter/Car until you can present these documents to them.

Handy Tips for Catching Ferries
The ferries travel to and from Lombok 24 hours a day, so if you want to catch a ferry and avoid the crowds, very early morning ferries or very late evening ferries are recommended.
Sea Sickness Alert
If you suffer from sea sickness, I recommend to go to the local Apotek to buy Seasick Tablets, they are cheap and around Rp. 30.000 ($3).
